After 8 years together, 7 of which we’ve been married (Ask any of our amazing friends and family who were at the awesome Sonoma wine country party that was our wedding.), and 4 of which we’ve spent restoring a house we own together, the state of California has made our commitment official and legal.
We got married today. Go us!

I’m with Becky in not remembering where/how I came across “Whinging It.” But I recognized a kindred spirit, and have followed the adventures ever since: there’s something a little extra-magical when the feeder tells me there’s a post here to look at. And to find out that this one commemorates an overdue-but-no-less-magical day?
So let me offer a paraphrase:
May those who love you love you.
And those that don’t love you,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So you’ll know them by their limping.
And to go with the paraphrase, sincere, heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful day.

You’ve been in my thoughts frequently over the past couple of weeks as NPR has covered events in California. Yeah for you and Yeah for us as a country. Congrats (again).

I couldn’t be happier for you two! As someone who attended the fantastic party in Sonoma 7 years ago, I’d like to suggest a Re-Union Reunion (get it?!) back there this October. Can you think of a better way to celebrate? Because I cannot.

now I like it even more. Congratulations, you both

Sometimes I thought your wedding wasn’t real because the food was so much better than any other wedding food in the world (No, I will never stop talking about it). I’m so glad for this wedding for many reasons but the most selfish reason is that this photo will make me smile each time I check your blog- it is perfect (the light switch photo wasn’t doing it for me).

Yay!
If you can make it through years of renovation projects without ripping each other’s faces off at a bad Home Depot trip, you can make it through anything. Congrats and ’bout time!

The comments have me missing Whinging It all over again.

Man, I have been reading you forever (also, missing Whinging It forever now too) and I am so thrilled for you guys!
I remember the pictures from your first ceremony and man, now I’m getting all sorts of sappy. You guys are gorgeous. Really and truly.

This is what I get for being reminded by your comment that I haven’t been here in a while. I, too, miss Whinging It horribly, and remember the first pictures! OH YES.
Oh, congratulations! Sappy sappy over here, too!

I found your blog a year ago when I realized that we were buying a 120 year old home. I love the writing style and I’ve been inspired by your projects. Congratulations on a beautiful day!
P.S. I like the idea of a re-union reunion. How fun!

As one who was at the first celebration (wonderfully memorable!), and who was privleged to listen into this wedding ceremony via cell phone (midst many happy tears), I love that our family has now grown to include three daughters and a son. WooooooHooooooo, US!
Mom…..too.

Hi, guys! Congrats! Yay!
I’ve been away too long. See what you miss? Anyway, I still write for the ConstructionDeal.com home improvement blog but I’ve finally also started my own personal house blog.
I’m doing a green remodel of my new house. It’s going to be a fun adventure.
Congrats again.

OK, so when are you going to make that much-promised trip to Scotland? Huh?
Come soon!
