SPF one million

Yes. That’s what I’ll need if we start seeing the sun in any long-term kind of way. Right now my skin has that super-white look of burrow-dwelling mole people…or the British.

But we got a whole DAY and a HALF of non-rain (it could never be called sunny) last weekend and I used the time to finish stripping the paint off all 4 sides of the far porch post. I got the rotten quarter-round on the inside edge of the porch ceiling torn off and rot-fix applied. I sanded and rough-cut the boards for the top and bottom post trim pieces. And I started finish sanding the stair-side post. Wheee-ew. Tired. But man, so very happy to actually get something done.

Today is beautiful and, of course, I’m at work which is far from my extension cords and tool belt. FAR!

And what’s in the mud? Well in our backyard, potatoes are in the mud. And tonight when I went to make stew and found that I’d forgotten to buy potatoes, B. suggested that I go out and dig up one of the plants in the garden. Okay. Rooting around in the dirt OUTSIDE the house. That’s almost like a house project. It’s on the house property. I need a tool to do it. Close enough!

So check it out. All those potatoes came from one plant. It was like an easter egg hunt with dirt and tools! In other words, AWESOME.

And we have two more plants that we put in for the winter crop. So the fun hasn’t ended.

Ok. Clearly I need this bullsh*t rain to stop so I can get on a real project. Pity me.
